Fire Five

A blog about me, myself and the stuff I like. In general, I'm just a typical college student. I love comics, music, writing music, and anime
.
Found this at a Korean market place. I love Japanese gum and I’ve always wanted to chew a tank engine.

Hope’s cookies! Is a delicious cookie shop near Bryn Mawr college in Pennsylvania. It is attached to another restaurant called Peace of Pizza. I love going there a picking up some fresh cookies. These cookies are my pick for the best from scratch type recipe. They are reminiscent of a Mrs. Field’s type cookie but much fresher tasting. I’m going to missing having them once a year. But, they do have a website and ship their cookies nation wide.

So I bought a cheap one color dress from old navy. AND this is my first sketch of what I’m going to do to it. The circles are supposed to be buttons ( I started to collect antique buttons and now I have a purpose for them) and then different colour threads for each flower. Also make a pattern on the front similar to what the number 5 looks like on a die.  But, I have to wait to start until I get back to my apartment where my sewing kit is, so I have ample time to plan.

We happened upon this Japanese sweet crepe shop while in Seattle. The crepes were pretty good, although I would have like less whip crème and more substance. I hope they open one here in Norcal!

A citrus cake from a japanese sweets store in San Francisco. It’s sooo cute I love it.

Some of the best sugar cookies I have tasted in a long time came from Eleni’s shop in Chelsea market (in New York). They come in tons of fun shapes. I only bought the typical vanilla sugar cookies, which are shown in the pictures above. Here’s the link for the companies website http://elenis.com/

I made cupcakes for my section and for the birthday of one of the freshmen in my section as well. I wanted to do something more fun than just the standard vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. So I made lemon and chocolate cup cakes. The lemon was more like a pound cake and came from this recipe http://www.joyofbaking.com/LemonFrostedLemonCake.html. It is especially good when you used fresh lemons. And a basic chocolate cake recipe from the Joy of cooking. The frosting was a regular chocolate butter cream. I used leftover sprinkles from valentines day so all of these look super girly.

Also never stack warm cupcakes because they will stick to each other. That pyramid was the worst decision.

A pastrami burger and chili cheese fries from Fat burger in Monterey. They make the best burgers I have ever eaten. :D

Made homemade dipping sauce and soba noodles with my housemate. The recipe was pretty simple and very tasty from a cookbook called Noodle Comfort. Hopefully I will make it again soon. And yes I do realize that the left bowl looks like its a bowl of mud. (>.<)
